A 72 and 79 are two totally different body styles. If you have 73-87 then the body parts are interchangable somewhat. I would stick with the crew cab and drop the dooley rear end. Just depends on what you want the truck to be and do for you.

Hello again, I have to apologize to you all. When I came apon this forum I was so excited that I gave the wrong information. I would like to correct that and say that I own a '73 LB camper speicai and a '79 3+3 dually. The question is the same as my last post just the dates are changed.

Thanks for the reply, My plans are to restore the body/interior and drop a Cummings into the old girl. Throw my camper on and cruse. I'm ( semi retired) and enjoy travel.

What I would do is keep the 3+3, loose the doolie, and give it a short bed. Welcome!

Hey there! Welcome to the board. You might remember me from TDP.
To me, the ultimate truck is a 4 door, long bed dually with a diesel power plant. So that is what I suggest. However, I prefer the '81-87 body styles. Even better, put a '91 Suburban front clip on your 3+3, and you'd have one mean truck!
