The return! A project build and blazer love story.
Howdy blazer family! Some of you may have noticed I disappeared from your computer screens for awhile. don't worry, I'm back for good now! Life has a funny way of getting in your way. I've been disconnected from the internet with only sporadic access since this summer.... Gotta love Northern Idaho my family has property there and I was over there supervising some work being done. No internet, wood fired stove/oven, no hot water, outside plumbing....lame.
Anyways, it's time to get started back on the old girl. First, for those that don't know.... A little background. I've owned My 72 since march of 2001. I was 17 at the time and having a blazer was awesome! It has pretty much looked like this since I got it. It was my DD till about 2 years ago. when I got this..... Yes, a Ford...No, I haven't gone crazy my grandpa bought it new and recently gave it to me. It's really well taken care. It's been a extra vehicle it's entire life with a camper then a fifth wheel for about ten years or so. Now that I have a truck the Blazer can become more of a people hauler... back to the blazer. I've done a lot of mechanical work over the years, but nothing cosmetic. here is my engine. I just never had the time to tear it all the way apart. I started to do the rust repair Last year, but never got further than pulling the interior and getting some parts. thread from 2007 here http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=248016. it's always had rust, but it's gotten bad over the last year. Now It's finally time to get going on it. I envision for this build some thing similar to Bouncytruck's Blazer. But a little more off-road prepared. the look I'm going for is what it would look like new and "kitted out"....Skinny knobby tires, roll bar, outside tire carrier, factory skid plates, front push bar and winch mounted behind front bumper. But on the inside it is going to get injected and overdrive. so that's my plan and I'm sticking to it. I'm going to start with the rust, paint it myself and install all the goodies I've accumulated over the years for it. stay tuned, I'm motivated this time and plan on staying on track.

Re: The return! A project build and blazer love story.
Thanks. I didn't think I'd get any ford love on this site
here are a couple more pictures. It's a 1979 F250 Ranger SC/CS( supercab/camperspecial) it has a 460 with cruise and A/C, both working. It's seen 140,000 on it all with a camper or towing a fifth wheel. It's gone to Alaska twice and Arizona yearly from 1996 till about 2007. That's when grandpa decided it wasn't safe anymore for him to tow his 26 ft fifth wheel. He's turning 90 this February. but he's still driving his subaru...Official BAD Ass... the engine I built this summer for it. It didn't need to rebuild it, but I thought it could use a little more grunt. interior so it a pretty cool old truck. I'd prefer it was a chevy, but it was free and it's grandpa's truck. It's been in the family longer than I have. It doesn't matter if it's a chevy, Dodge or Ford. It's just what it is. but I won't talk about it anymore..... this is a chevy site. btw. ordered a few more patch panels today.
