Towing?

Does anyone do towing ? I have an 85 short with 350, 700R4 and 3.42 and was wondering if anybody knows the tow rating, and also if I change the rear to 3.73 what would that max out. Thanks for any and all info.

Re: Towing?

This is from my'78 manual. it may be a tad different, but will be good guideline.

These ratings are for the heaviest duty of each type of truck.

Re: Towing?

if youre going to do towing with that trans better read up on it... add a tranny cooler and make sure you have a newer more beefier trans in there or it will toast
