Re: What did you get done 1/31/10 edition

Nothing!!

We were hit with 8" of snow Friday night Saturday. Probably not a big deal to most of you guys but it shut our area down. My garage is being used to store construction materials so my vehicles are outside and covered with snow.

Yesterday was awful, wife and 2 teenage daughters had themselves a Lifetime channel day. I did my best to keep the testosterone readings at an acceptable level in the house. It was tough though, 3 against 1.

Re: What did you get done 1/31/10 edition

Changed my break pads last week, and washed it. Ran into the original owner's wife (I'm the 3rd owner) he passwd away last year and she was getting choked up at the Chevy. She was glad to see it's being taken care of.

Put a new starter in yesterday to get back on the road.

I appreciate that Bob...

I got more of my dad's truck stripped down...got the 350 motor and 350 trans out...it's going into my blue and white 84 swb sometime after the new baby comes in March...and then I'm putting the 6.2 diesel that was in the blue and white truck into my crewcab swb 3/4 ton...

I also got the dual tank system pulled, got the factory swaybar and mounts pulled...didn't have enough time to get the tilt steering pulled, but I'll get that this week...

anyways, if yall wanna see what I have for sale, there's a link to the parting out thread in my signature...

Well, my daughter said she wanted her pinewood derby car to look like a hot dog. Being the good father that I am, I obliged.

Oh yeah, and in my spare time I pulled the body off of my 2wd blazer to start the frame off process.

It was a busy day!

Re: What did you get done 1/31/10 edition

I went to a local junk yard to browse around a bit and then went and shaved some of my buddies 89 Chevy 1500. Then today I got the garage reorganized after my toolbox shuffling of late (thanks to my job situation). And got ready for the quarter panels and such that are "in-transit" right now for the Biscayne.
Note: picture when it came to my house Sept 2009.

Re: What did you get done 1/31/10 edition

I took the 80 out to stretch it's legs and go visit the ol man for a couple of days. While I was there I took advantage of the warm shop to retorqued the heads, and went over the pan bolts, timingchain cover bolts and such to stop some minor seeping, played with choke on the 1406 some more (ended up unhooking it grrrr),fixed my glovebox door, and "fixed" my heater controls (round two coming there).Got some good bsing in,took care of a couple of small projects and planned for a couple of upcoming big projects.Great weekend!

Tried to see how fast the snow will melt. Started my suicide doors the other day then it snowed like crazy so now I get to sit and watch the snow melt, I don't have a garage.

Re: What did you get done 1/31/10 edition

I was able to get the steering parts put back on my truck correctly. That made a huge difference in how it drives. The center link was on 180* off and was switched side to side. It's been cold out, so I will wait until one night this week to swap out the positive cables.

I spent most of Saturday dealing with my DD. I had been having a lot of electrical issues with my CTS-V, so it went away Saturday afternoon. I now have a 2010 Lincoln MKZ. It seems to be a pretty nice car, but obviously doesn't have the power the V had.

I sold my 86 2wd K5 and picked up a 72 2wd K5, today i welded up some extra holes in the floor where the PO had apparently mounted 5 or six sets of seats, and made some mounts for my new seats

Re: What did you get done 1/31/10 edition

I cut all the crossmembers and parts off of my 68 frame that I will need for the trailing arm rear suspension conversion on Fred on Saturday. Then I hit my parts shed to see what parts I have and what I will need to get. I also finished gutting everything off of my parts Burb and got it ready to pull the body off. If it wasn't for the mud and ice I would have had it off.

I only had a little bit of time in the shop today, so I built a cradle for the PCM that bolts in place of two inner fender to rad support holes.
