Anybody know what shocks I should use??

Just a quick question. Anybody find an off the shelf shock for a lowered 66 c-10? Mine are shot, and i cut coils on my existing springs. I can find factory shocks, but its lowered about 2 1/2" in front and about 3 1/2 in the rear. I found some on summits website that are for lowered c-10's, but was just wondering if anybody knew if shocks from a different vehicle would work. just tryin to keep my project as cheap as possible. Thanks for any help!!

no I don't think so there pretty short...I still have my stock rears shocks (I'm bagged) but looking at the other frame I have it looks like the stock fronts will work on back but thats just a guess..the body of them looks to be short enough and I dont need alot of travel up?? its going to be a test?? seems to easy to be true??

Here's some good info. I'm using the Monroe shocks listed in this thread, and in the front I have 3" drop springs(and 1.5" stepped LCAs, but they don't affect the shocks) with Monroe 33033 shocks. In the rear I have manual-fill air bags, quite a bit more drop than you have, and I have Monroe 32301s in the rear.

This may help too:

Awesome. Thanks for the quick replies. This will help a lot. MXmaniac what kind of bags did you use?? And is there a build thread for dropping the control arms, or is it a kit? Now that I started, i want to go lower. Kind of addicting.

There's the thread for the stepped control arms.

For the bags I have Airlift Dominator 2600s, and ran 1/4" line straight out the back with schraeder fittings.
