Re: Awesome deal on cl!

Someone probably told him that "all those truck guys are looking for those and they are worth a lot".
Around here locally I doubt if you could get 250 for that same setup unless everything was perfect.

Re: Awesome deal on cl!

Yeah. I'd pay $500 for a cleaned and painted setup with new balls/rods etc. Maybe 6.

I couldnt even see inside of the cab due to all the parts stacked in there. The rockers were crap. Some guys opinion of condition can vary quite a bit from mine. Total waste of time

Picky, picky---lol----seems that some folks think age is a sign of value--if that was the case, I'd me worth more then my retarted dog---Oh wait, retarted is no longer politically correct---ok---my half assed dog-----the assed part refers to his donkey look!!
Selling truck on e-bay is like going to a casino and putting your money down while closing your eyes and waiting to see what happens. You just never know but you rarely walk away as a winner.

Re: Awesome deal on cl!

I FLEW INTO BOISE IDAHO ABOUT 8 OR 9 YEARS AGO TO PICK UP A TRUCK & DRIVE IT HOME. IT WAS A 4WD 72 GMC SUBUBAN. IT LOOKED GREAT ON THE COMPUTER. HIS EBAY AD HAD ABOUT 40 PICTURES & I TALKED TO HIM ON THE PHONE AT LENGTH. HE SWORE IT DIDN'T EVER HAVE ANY RUST , NEVER BEEN IN A ACCIDENT & DIDN'T HAVE ANY BONDO. MY WINNING BID WAS $8700 (THIS WAS AWHILE AGO DON'T FORGET)SO IT WAS NOT A ROLLING CHASSI PROJECT. HE PICKED ME UP AT THE AIRPORT & DROVE ME ABOUT 10 MILES TO THE TRUCKS LOCATION. WITHOUT EVEN GETTING OUT OF THE PASS. SEAT I TOLD HIM... YOU CAN TAKE ME BACK TO THE AIRPORT RIGHT NOW. I SPENT ABOUT 10 MINUTES SCHOOLING HIM ON WHAT TO LOOK FOR ON THESE OLD VEHICALS. HE SEEMED TRUELLY SHOCKED. I COUNTER OFFERED HIM ABOUT HALF OF THE PRICE. HE DECLINED, WROTE ME A CHECK FOR MY DEPOSIT, DROVE ME BACK TO THE AIRPORT & PAID FOR MY FLIGHT HOME. I GAVE HIM POSITIVE FEEDBACK AS I STILL BELIEVE HE JUST DIDN'T KNOW. BUT I'VE HAD GREAT EXPERINCES TOO. THERES NOTHING AS EXCITING AS DRIVING 800 OR 1000 MILES IN A STRANGE 40 YEAR OLD TRUCK WITH NOTHING BUT A SMALL TOOL BAG. JOHN
