what's the best way to transport engine to the shop.....I've always put the motor on an old tire and tied it up so it wouldn't fall...any other ideas out there??

Re: engine to the shop
Ronnie,
I have always had success with a tire or a wooden motor crate. Have you asked your builder if he has a wooden motor crate you can borrow to bring him a motor. some have metal motor stands as well. another option may be to call a local dealer and talk to someone in parts to see if they have any used crate motor crates that they are scrapping...

Re: engine to the shop
I have a couple of the rolling engine carts that Summit sells. My local machine sh9op even sells them for just a little of nothing. They bolt to the motor mount spots and the back of the block. They are easy to move around with an engine hoist and allows a person to move the engine around the shop without much effort.
