Backing plate question...
Bought a 1972 C10 rear end to put under my 68. The backing plates were pretty bad (holes through them). I bought some from a board member (he said they were off a 71). The guy I had going through the rear end (bearings/seals...new drum brakes) says they won't work. He ordered parts from LMC and they didn't work.
My question: What are the various fitments of backing plates? Seems I recall that 1970 may have been different? Can anybody verify that? Thanks. Tom

The problem is that the two different steel braided rear cables lmc sent seem to be a different diameter and length where it goes through the backing plate...does anybody know how the years differed? I can't seem to find any reference material...and my mechanic says the lmc cables won't work. I would have thought that they were interchangeable. Thanks. Tom
