2 piece drive shaft angle help
my truck is bagged with a C notch ,and 1" blocks ... the DS angle seems way out of wack so I need solutions..a 1 piece is out for now...I was looking for ideas related to moving the carrier and/or axle wedges....I figure someone must have had this issue before
Thanx Jeff

Re: 2 piece drive shaft angle help
if it doesn't bind, make noise, or shimmy, then you are probably ok. A one piece would most likely be worse too.

Re: 2 piece drive shaft angle help
you need to find out just how far out it is. put an angle gage on the rear ujoint flange. Shims should do it but you will need to pick a height at which you want to set the angle at. usually ride height make it within 2 degrees of the trans tail shaft.

If I HAVE to go to plan B is there a drive shaft that works to convert it to 1 piece...th350 to 12 bolt...as much as I can't afford it right now the small drive shaft/u joints scares me with the new prostreet tires 3:73's and 350 plus hp...I have a spare 2 piece from a parts truck that I was going to keep around just incase but I would rather not worry if I'm at the strip or traffic light?? on a side note if I go to 1 piece is there any issue with the 1 piece hitting the x member where the carrier is now??? Thanx Jeff you can see in this pick that the pumpkin is vey close to the X memeber

Re: 2 piece drive shaft angle help
Install the carrier bearing upside down. It is somewhere in the suspension area. It may not get it perfect, but closer!
