Re: 1970 GMC C10 292 4 speed PARTING

HI, I'm looking for an original engine mount crossmember, or I guess everything for mounting a 292 between the frame. What I've got is someone's homemade stuff that I'm looking to swap out. Let me know if you can help.
Thanks,
Nick

I asked about the antenna on the other truck you are parting, but the one on this truck might work better since it's on the passenger side. Price plus shipping to 46562 please...

V8 or 6? Do you need complete from pedal to carb or just portions thereof? Sharpie

Re: 1970 GMC C10 292 4 speed PARTING

i have a v/8 and it runs ok. i think the linkage is off a newer truck because it is on a bind and it does not bolt on to the floor correctly. the pedal is hooked to the linkage and i have two tits on the floor to connect to the pedal that i assume should be there. i have seen what i think is the right linkage and it is rather simple, but i am not sure if what i saw is for six cylinders only. i have a new floor mounted pedal. i need the linkage and cable hook-up to the carb.

Re: 1970 GMC C10 292 4 speed PARTING

Ok, I understand what you need. The pedal mount assembly will be the same on all 1970 trucks, the firewall side consists of a rod that attaches to the carb. The cable type set-up is 71/72 style. I can send you everything from pedal to carb for $30. Hope this helps, Sharpie

Bignbad: Yes sm465. $45 shipped and I got in another throttle pedal assembly like the one you sent a picture of.

Seadonkey: I will be pulling the motor and you will have first shot at all of the 292 mounting hardware.

Thanks, Sharpie

Dennis, how is the shifter knob? Also, can you get me a pic of the shift boot and retainer. I am not sure if the one that came with our 70' is correct. Thanks Trevor

Re: 1970 GMC C10 292 4 speed PARTING

Bignbad: PM sent.
Trevor: interesting one here, the shift boot and ring are nice on the GMC, but they are somewhat square shaped. They match the factory hole in the high hump, but are quite different from the set on a 1970 Chevy 4 speed I have at my shop as you can see in the pics. Both are straight six trucks. What shape is your floor hump hole? Sharpie

Re: 1970 GMC C10 292 4 speed PARTING

Hey Dennis, my boot is oval like the 2nd one. I think my boot and retainer have too many holes in them. What would you take for the retainer and boot? My knob I have is correct from your pics and in good shape, so I won't need one. Trevor
