A weekend worth of work
I swapped out my tired ol' drum brakes this weekend. Put in 2 1/2" drop spindles, disc brakes, added a power booster, new springs, and new shocks.
Not a hard swap, but time consuming. I was very close to ordering tubular a-arms when I couldn't get the passenger side lower ball join to let go. The hardest part of the entire swap was removing, hooking up, and re-installing the brake pedal linkage. Pics follow.

I also swapped in a 70-something steering wheel my wife's grandfather gave me. This man has some cool stuff in his basement. Including a (complete) disassembled 427!

Looks good, but why didn't you go ahead and swap out your ball joints at the same time? Are they relatively new? I bet the new disc felt a lot better on the road....

I did the lower balljoints, but the uppers had no play and looked brand new. To be honest, I didn't really want to mess with them that badly either.
