tranny questions
Hi all, I have a 71 c/10 long bed. It had a 4 speed manual tranny(3 speed with granny gear) and I swaped it out for a th350. I believe the tranny is out of a late 70's early 80's truck. I know I needed a different drive shaft so I got one out of the junk yard, it had a different center bearing on it but i asumed i could get the right bearing for it. The truck I took the drive shaft from was also right around the same age (70-72) My problem is the shaft is way to long. To put the shaft where the center bearing needs to be the front of the shaft is all the way up to the tranny cross member. What gives do I need a drive shaft just for a 71? i figured they where the same from 67-72, Thanks

Re: tranny questions
your shaft donor truck could have had a TH350, TH400, or even a powerglide.
Your TH350 in your truck may be a long shaft, when they all came with short shaft trans |
