Yoke - 72 gmc half ton
Hi Guys
This is the yoke just front of my carrier bearing. As you can see, it is threaded. I am replacing the u-joints and carrier bearing now, and can't figure out what was threaded on to this in the past, or if this is from another truck. Guess this will be another question for Andy. Has anyone seen this ? Thanks Guys. |

This yoke is just in front of the carrier bearing, and accepts the rear
drive shaft. Are you saying I am missing a nut ? What is the nut for ? It was not there on disassembly, but everything is 38 years old. |

Some driveshafts have a slip on yoke that is held on by a threaded nut. Its similiar You can find some pics here http://www.rodandcustommagazine.com/...ech/index.html You can see the threaded cap in the pics You can see it here to http://www.dennysdriveshaft.com/c10_...iveshafts.html Last edited by mbgmike; 03-13-2010 at 06:21 PM. |

Since there was nothing there when I dis-assembled, can I assume that
I dont have/need that nut ? |
