Anyone running a 255/45R20 and 275/45R20 staggered setup? Got pics?
Hey guys,
Got my Boss 338 wheels ordered and am trying to decide on tires. I got 20x8.5 fronts and 20x10 rears. I am hoping the rears are going to stuff in the well with 6.25 BS, looks like other guys had no issues though. I was looking at 255/40R20 front and 275/40R20 rears but those tire sizes are never stocked and a pain to find. I am worried the 45 series tires are going to be too tall, but I hate the super low profile look of the 35 series. Is anyone running a 255/45R20 front and 275/45R20 rear that has pictures? I am stock height in the front and lowered 2" in the rear. I wanted to get the wheels on there and then decide on whether and how much to drop it. Sorry for another pic request, I searched but only found one truck with 275's all the way around. Thanks guys.

Most run either a 245/40 matched with a 295/40 or a 255/40 with a 295/40. I'm not sure how difficult it would be locating a matching set of 255/40 w/ a 275/40.

i have 255/45 and 275/45/20 om my truck with boss 338 wheels.. i am pleased.. wish i had gotton 295/45 in the rear b/c the 275 has a small ballon look compared to teh 255 on teh 8.5 wheel in front.. not too noticable though.. O and you will have to run a spacer in the rear, it rubs or it did on mine.. I got a 1 inch spacer. might go 1.25 with 295 tires.. on the fronti had my rotors machined down to fit the 338 wheels and used a 3/8 spacer.. i have prob a 4/6 drop and i dontthink teh 45 series tires are too tall

I'm running 255/40/20 on the front and 315/35/20 on the rear.
I think 275/45/20 will fit with no problems with that back spacing. My rear wheels (20x10 also) have 5.75" BS and at full dump my tires don't rub the outside of the inner wheel well. With 6.25" BS and a narrower tire, you won't rub on the front. I don't think you'll rub on the back either. I put my wheels and tires on during while I was tubbing it, and they actually fit within the cut out, but it was close, and would probably rub on the inside going around a corner. With your wheel being 1/2" closer to the wheel well the may be a problem too, but then again you're thinking of a narrower tire. There are some pics of this somewhere in my build thread. |
