Trouble starting my 76 c10.
Hey guys gotta question. I was just trying to crank my truck up to go to the store and it wont do anything. The starter wont even turn over or anything. A neighbor checked the starter with a screwdriver and it turned over and my lights and everything works so the battery must be ok. What would be causing the problem?? Thanks in advance.

More info....what year and trans?
Ign switch, which is mounted to the column just under gauge cluster, could be loose (out of adjustment) or bad.....or the wire to the starter solenoid is loose. If it's an auto, "jiggle" the column shifter while trying to crank....lol.

Re: Trouble starting my 76 c10.
Thanks for the quick response. My neighbor took a look at it and said it was the ignition switch. I went and bought a push button and some wire and wired it up straight to the starter and now it works again. lol. Now the truck keeps dying on me and we've pretty much determined it to be the fuel filter's just really dirty. It looks like the original fuel filter too!! But anyways thanks again.
