What im working with

I know its in pretty rough shape but the 2 biggest areas are the cab corners and where the step meets the rear wheel well only 2 spots with rot every thing else can be sand blasted.

That truck is awesome!!!

And it has a few layers of paint on it.

The only thing I can see that it needs though is a new heater core and you're set!

Re: What im working with

Thanx for the compliments. As for the lowering I was thinking about dropping it about 2" just because its only 2wd and i dont wanna drive it on the salty roads after i get it fixed up. I looked up the block code an it said its was either a 230 or 260ish but i see head bolts so i think its the smaller 6cyl. As for the paint that bright teal showing through the red isnt the stock color either. Did I meantion the best part is it was a CL $500 buy.

Re: What im working with

looks like a good resto project to me! if it is the 250, i say swap it out for a hopped up 292 (electronic ignition, roller valvetrain, 4 barrel intake, etc) and put some 71-72 disc brakes on the front.

I like them too, but they are probably a wierd size and worse, split rims. most tire installer run to the hills when you come in with those.

however, it would look killer with some 16.5" x 8.25 8 luggers!!

I still have the original split rims for mine. They are just like those minus a little rust. My grandad ran them forever, but I didn't want to hunt down 16.5" tires.
