Question regarding a flip-kit install
Guys, I need some help here. I'm going to be installing a flip-kit on my '80 Stepside this weekend and wanted to see what the easiest way was to accomplish this? I'm sure many of you have done this yourselves, so I know this is the best place to ask this question since I've never done anything like this before. Sorry for my ignorance guys, but I'm new to this and really want to learn.
Do I completely unbolt the leaf springs (front and back) then slide them under the axle and install the new hardware? Or is there another way of doing this? |

Re: Question regarding a flip-kit install
That's probably the easiest way. Otherwise it would involve disconnecting the drive shaft and brake lines in order to get the rear diff out.

Re: Question regarding a flip-kit install
I searched this site and I noticed a posting by 454HO, but the pictures are not showing. That would have been a great post for me to start with, but I just can't see any pictures and I'm just nervous about screwing something up.

you can do it either way...
i would try to just unbolt the springs completely.... then place the springs below the rear end... let us know how it works out... |
