Rubber floor liner?
Hi, I'm building a frame off on my 1980 3/4 ton long box 4x4 as we speak, and I'm looking at the LMC rubber floor liner as an option. Has anyone used the LMC rubber floor liner? how is the quality fit and finish? Any pictures? Thanks
P.S pictures coming soon. |

Re: Rubber floor liner?
Are you talking about the rubber floor mat, in place of carpet inside the cab?
I ordered an LMC mat but sent it back. It had two issues: 1) it seemed really thin, much more so than the original production mat, and 2) it did not have enough contour molded in to fit my floor (which is a "high hump" floor as a result of my trans, even though it's a 2wd). I specified "high hump" and their invoice said it was, so I can only assume that's what they intended it to be. I ended up ordering a mat from member Capt Kaos, which is pictured here (before and after): It had the necessary contours, and was much thicker (the downside of which is that it is harder to install. Wait for a warm summer day to soften it up before attempting to put it in). I prefer the rubber mat over carpet and always have; that's why I ordered both this truck and my 1980 stepper with the mat originally. My entire build thread is linked in my signature below ("Chevy Truck into"), if you are interested. K

It fits nice. There are a couple areas where it "bridges" across the contour of the floor, but that might have been my installation as much as anything else. There's lots of extra around the periphery so you have plenty to trim. No complaints. K
