Tucked in the rear bumper 3 inches
My dad and I decided that my truck look horrible with the huge gap between the bumper and the bed....so we tucked it in. Opinions? Take in mind that I've had the truck 2 weeks only.

Re: Tucked in the rear bumper 3 inches
Yes it does. If I wanted to I can drop the tail gate slamming it down and it wont touch. After several adjustments, we got the fitment just right.

Re: Tucked in the rear bumper 3 inches
Now you need to narrow the bumper to match the tuck...LoL, it sticks out too far side to side.

If you hold up a 73-80 bumper, you will see what I mean. It's almost too short on the sides, but the 81-91 bumper look too long once it's pushed forward. BTW- West Texas Z that does look good. Please ignore our anal retentive ramblings...

I am currently trying to find a chrome shop that can assist me with re-chroming my bumpers, with filled bumper bolt holes. Sure, I could easily paint the bumper, but chrome looks soo much better..and those bumper bolts are an eyesore!

Once it is fairly smooth the plater will need to run it through the copper tank. Any imperfections will need to be welded up and smoothed again. One more through the copper tank to check for flaws and a good sanding. Then a final dip in copper before it goes to nickel, then chrome. Another concern is ensure that the bolts welded on do nor bind or stress when tightened up. Any undue pressure will result in the bumper bolts showing through again. But that's just what I hear...

Re: Tucked in the rear bumper 3 inches
He means the width. Look at where the bumper wraps around the bed, there is another gap there.

Re: Tucked in the rear bumper 3 inches
Oh, one more thing...I decided not to tuck my bumper, but to build a full length gravel shield, and paint it body color...to tie the bumper to the truck better. Might go black with it too...but I don't know.

Re: Tucked in the rear bumper 3 inches
My decision might have gotten easier...LoL. Thanks.
Also, along the can-o-worms line Ken mentioned. I think if the rear gets tucked, the front should too...otherwise the job looks half finished IMO. Unfortunately, that is a harder task to accomplish.

Re: Tucked in the rear bumper 3 inches
I was referring to the "tuck" of the front bumper, not the stance of the truck. This whole thread is about the bumper tuck, and bumpers in general.
