Re: fiberglass rear fenders on ad trucks comments
I contemplated fiberglass but found that I could buy good used stepside fenders cheaper than the fiberglass ones.
Fiberglass will get star cracking from rocks flying out of the tires and impact the underside of the fender too. Not a good thing. Look around for old trailers, a lot of these truck beds were made into trailers. |

Re: fiberglass rear fenders on ad trucks comments
no experience here, but have heard several guys using them say they've had no issues. I haven't heard one bad thing about them. If you Rhino line the inside I cant see star cracking to be a problem.
I mean, they make full fiberglass body kits for tons of vehicles. I have a friend with a '71 Bronco that has a complete fiberglass body tub and he has only one crack - that's from hitting a tree

I have a fiberglass front clip on my chevelle, not a 1 piece but seperate fenders and hood i bought these because of price also and had them sprayed with the bed liner, really helped. but after paying to have it done could have bought the steel. you can apply it yourself with a roller not sure how well that works

I've got a friend that runs fiberglass fenders all the way around on his ADs. Running boards as well. He won't go back to steel. He's worn out 3 sets of steel fenders.

Re: fiberglass rear fenders on ad trucks comments
I have fiberglass front fenders on my AD. They had to be massaged to fit, but are great now. Just spray some undercoat on the underside.
