Backspacing - will these rims fit on my 66?
Hey, Anyone know what offset and or backspacing I need for aftermarket wheels? I have a 66- 6 lug, stock drum breaks. There's a set of Mickey Thompsons on CL near me with the right bolt pattern but they are 16x10's with 4.5 inch backspacing. Will these work & look OK?

That sounds like 4wd set-up to me. They mite work just fine if you arent low and like 'em sticking out there.

Here's the only sure way to know, other than taking the wheels and trying to put them on....
http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Percys...rite,6761.html It's pretty pricey, but probably better than buying the wrong wheel.

Re: Backspacing - will these rims fit on my 66?
Sir, I have the 16"x8" versions of these Mickey Thompson Wheels with 4 1/2" backspacing and they fit perfect. I would be concerned that the additional two inches of width would not allow adequate clearance. They will be close, especially in the rear.

Is your truck a fleetside or stepside? Why would I ask?
You can get by with a wider tire/wheel on the fleetside. Tell us more about your truck......... |

Re: Backspacing - will these rims fit on my 66?
My truck is a Fleetside. You can see a photo of it in my avatar. It now has disc brakes which moved the front wheels out 3/4". It has a stock width rear. If your rear axle is perfectly centered and you consider a minimal tire size they may fit. I have a 255/55/16" tire and I have about 1 1/2" clearance on each side at the fender lip. My truck has 5" drop springs in the rear with a 3 1/2" drop in the front using a drop coil with drop spindles. Good luck.
