Thumbs up '85 K3500 "Retired" Fire Dept Truck

Hi guys...I'm stoked about my new rig. Bought this '85 K3500 retired fire truck today. There are only 43,000 actual miles...clean as a whistle. Has a 6.2 diesel and 4:11 gearing which will be great for use on our ranch.

I will be selling the service body and putting on a nice flatbed.

Re: '85 K3500 "Retired" Fire Dept Truck

Very nice! Been learning how retired fire trucks of that size are some of the best buys around! Gotta love how the "owners" took care of them.

Congrats. Look forward to seeing it converted with the flatbed.

Sweet truck! If that thing can still spray water, I'd leave it if you have fires every year around your area. Sometimes the emergency service can't get there in time.

Re: '85 K3500 "Retired" Fire Dept Truck

Yeah, it's a beast. I'm about 3 months out from finishing a frame off restoration on my other truck, a '80 k2500. I needed a ranch rig right now and this will more than fill the bill.

After looking at every brand in the valley, I went with a Mirage flatbed in Nampa, ID. They built it to my specs and I did the mounting. I'm very pleased with the way it turned out. It was about 1800.00.
