drive shaft length
Does anyone know if there is a difference in length between a v8 3 speed and a inline 6 3speed drive shaft? thanks

Re: drive shaft length
Yes, the V8 sits further forward on different engine stands so the driveshaft is longer to compensate for that.

Re: drive shaft length
if you plan on just dropping the enging in, and bolting it to the existing tranny, then everything will work fine though.

Re: drive shaft length
I knew i could count on you two. The 350 is in the stock inline 6 position now, but its going to be a pain to get the headers to fit and if i need to change the heads later and other stuff. so i am gonna move it to the stock v8 spot.
Thats the reason behind the question, i want to pull the drive shaft from a junker but not sure which one i need to pull it from. Thought maybe someone would know. It would be ideal to go to the j/y and find a v8 with a 3spd. thanks

Re: drive shaft length
plan this carefully, the clutch linkage can be a PITA when doing this.
