New speaker with stock am/fm radio?
my speaker has a tear in it. So I thought that it would be good to get a new speaker since I don't think anyone would ever know it's not original. So, I need to know what speakers will mount right up and plug right in to a factory oem radio. I looked in some parts magazines but wasn't sure if the newer speakers are only for newer radios. Thanks!

Re: New speaker with stock am/fm radio?
I found a speaker place that makes a near perfect replacement but all of my bookmarks got wiped off of my computer so I will have to go back and find the address in an old thread. It is a good speaker and you will need an original bracket to mount it and an original harness off on old speaker to plug into your radio ......Jason

I think you need the 4x10 special rectangle style. I called the guy on the phone and he was very Helpful and knowledgeable.

Re: New speaker with stock am/fm radio?
Make sure you don't get a 4 ohm speaker. The original is, I believe, 10 ohms and was designed to work with the power amp in the radio. It will not handle lower impedance loads very well. There are some dual 4" speakers that will fit, you could look for one of those or maybe even have the speaker repaired if it's not that bad of a tear.
