roll pan or chrome bumper
i need your opinons on this, i need a rear bumper for my 82' k20 cause it used to be a flat bed and i changed it to a fleet side long bed.i don't want to spend alot of money on this so i figure a roll pan and a reese hitch would be the way to go. to put a bumper in i'll need everything to attach it to the frame , and where i live good donor trucks are very hard to find and it was hard enough finding the bed for this truck. i'm not going to the show with this truck.so what do you think i should do?

Re: roll pan or chrome bumper
I'm partial to the "sport" bumpers, ie burban or blazer myself.

Re: roll pan or chrome bumper
I like bumpers too. I want to get one, but am not happy with the high cost of the right brackets.

Re: roll pan or chrome bumper
I remember when all the trucks around these parts had Bundy Bumpers on the rear. The dealer always ordered the trucks with no rear, and they would slap on a 8" or 10" chrome rear drop bumper. For the most part in the early to mid 90's you could buy those in a complete kit (brackets and lamps) for ~$200 all day long.
http://www.sporttruckdirect.com/Dist...r_Bumpers.html has similar stuff, found that on a quick google. The very bottom one is a complete kit it looks for ~$220. I never was fond of them, but it was an economical solution. |

Re: roll pan or chrome bumper
I'm more of a fan of roll pans, bumpers are just somethin else to get ripped off.

Re: roll pan or chrome bumper
i'm goin with the roll pan , they just don't make bumpers like they used to . i've seen 3 year old trucks up here with completely rotted out rear bumpers on them .they're all made of cheap pot metal now from china thats all mixed with different steels.i don't want to put somthing on that i'm going to have to replace every couple of years. so do any of you guys know who makes the best roll pans ? thanks
