4x4 spring hanger help - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I am in need of some knowledge..I took apart my 71 short bed 4x4 apart and found some real bad issues, like cracked frame, rusted ect... I`ve fixed the frame issues but now I am faced with anothed issue. The rear spring hangers are shot. Does any one know where I can find a set to match up ,or what other year(if any) will match up. See I used the backend of a 72 GMC short bed 2WD, but the spring hangers are different. I already checked with a couple of places, they all say no list....any help will be would be great.... thanks John

Did you use the 2wd spring hangers or did you put the 4wd hangers on the 2wd frame??? If you used the ones from the 2wd than any 2wd6772 chevy,GMC with leaf springs should work. try the part's board for one, alot of good guy's on there that could fix you up

I left the 2wd hangers on there for now but they are different (they are smaller). The ones off the 4wd are lower off the bottom of the frame and are longer.....

I dont have any but I now what you mean. have you try'd puting a want ad on the parts board? If you are interested in selling the 2wd ones I might be interested. the 73 and up ones are still avalible you could just use them since you will have to redrill your holes anyhow

Thanks. I found out today that any year from 1973 to 1987 are the same. I haven`t taken them off yet but if you want then you are more than welcome to them when I do... thanks John
