Largest Tires for Stock 2500HD 4X4 - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I have a 2006 stock Chevy 2500HD 4X4 extended cab with factory steel rims and Michelin 245/75/16 XLT truck tires. Great for hauling grain trailers but SUCK in sand and boat ramps.

So I bought a set of OEM 10 hole alloy rims, 16 X 6.5 like the ALY05079U at this link:

My question is what is the largest tire I can put on these rims and not have issues with rubbing the frame while turning. I dont want to lift the truck, just get these skinny HD truck tires off.

Back when I had my '03 Duramax I was able run 285/75/16's with minor trimming on the front spoiler. The red circle shows the area I trimmed.

Oldest boy has these on his 06 2500 HD and a tight corner will rub ,not much but enough to hear and feel in the steering wheel.

I have 305 70 16's on my 2002 HD 4X4 with the factory wheels.
