throttle rod to cable
I have a 70gmc that came out with a rod operated throttle. my bracket on the firewall that hold the pivot rod in cracked and i cant seem to find a replacement.
I noticed 71-71 had cable according to lmc. how hard or is it possible to convert a rod operated cab over to a cable operated? Thanks in advance |

Re: throttle rod to cable
In 71 they went to the cable and it involved modifying the firewall for the mounting bracket. You can massage your firewall or weld in a section of firewall from a 71-72.

Re: throttle rod to cable
If I'm not mistaken there is someone on here who makes a 71-72 pedal conversion for the 67-70 trucks that makes it a direct bolt on. I'm sure someone will chime in.
