Question No Power to the Head unit

I've done install a few times, but cant figure this out.

I have all the speakers hooked up.

I go to run power, straight from a 'PWR' open terminal to the power wire to a Sony head unit and I get nothing. Unit is brand new.

I've tried it a dozen ways from the fuse box and can figure out the accy / power hookup?

Once I did get the CD player going, but no lights. I just need the power/accy/ground wire hooked up, right?

Re: No Power to the Head unit

Update: Got power, works fine, but memory doesnt work.

I ran a straight line to the IGN and it worked, but then when I unhooked it to reroute the wire, hooked it back up again and now it wont save the data...

ugh.

Re: No Power to the Head unit

Losing the memory? Hmmmm... A constant (power supply) should solve the issue. Maybe try and switch the wire to the cig lighter.

Re: No Power to the Head unit

Got it worked out.. not sure how, but it works. I switched power from the factory yellow and constant from an open red slot in the fuse box. Works great.. love my new $100 Sony head unit.
