What ya'll think about the Central Pneumatic air compressor?

It's $130 right now, it's regularly $200. Just wanted to know if it might be a good deal. It wouldn't be used professionally or anything, just around the house and working on my vehicles.

Thanks

They aren't the best, but we have been using one in our shop for general maintenance for the last year and it has been fine. I wouldn't touch their oiless units, but for the price and light to medium use, they seem to work well.

Thanks. It seams like the best deal for the money. I was just wondering about its reliability and performance. I want to paint my truck someday. Do you think it can at least handle that and pumping up tires?

I would consider owning a US General branded compressor from them, but I would not spend any of my hard earned $ on a Central Pneumatic one unless it was IDENTICAL to the US General one.

This one?

Compare the air requirements of the tools you plan to run with what the compressor is supposed to be capable of. You aren't going to run a paint sprayer, or tools that spin like a grinder or cut off wheel with it, but it will fill tires and run an air nozzle.

Alot of the new paint sprayers are HVLP. They need ALOT of air to work. Expect to pay top dollar. The HF one is good for filling tires, running a impact wrench, airbrushing, etc. Basically any tool that is not run continuously. The SCFM rating of most tools is listed on the box.
