Re: 16.5 inch tires

Cooper, Firestone, General, and lots of off names. Go to Google and type in 8.00 x 16.5. You can even get them local at any tire shop. Just not a lot of tread pattern choices.

16.5's are going away fast. I would never buy another set of 16.5 wheels with what is offered out there.

Re: 16.5 inch tires

Just google "8.00 x 16.5"
you'll probably see alot of trailer tires but cooper is gonna be your best bet, they usually have em at "just tires" or "tractor supply"

Re: 16.5 inch tires

I agree with Mudder, I just put the last 9.50rx16.5 tire on my longhorn. unless you are going for the factory type tire you can get a 235rx16 tire for half the price with better choice in tire tread and manufactures.

Re: 16.5 inch tires

Thanks - I have some 16.5 slots and I thought the only tire I could go with was the 33" BFGs. I was worried about clearance in front, not to mention the cost. This thread showed me there may be an alternative.

I love the slots but I wasn't so sure about the bigger tires since I like more of lowered stance.

Re: 16.5 inch tires

For the purists, authenticity= priceless. The 16.5" wheel is one of the correct wheel sizes that were available from 67 thru 72. Its hard for some people to believe GM never had an 16" one piece wheel for 3/4 tons during this era, but had a 16" one piece wheel for 1/2 tons.
