Proportioning Valve Question
Will a prop valve from a 71 manual brake(disc/drum) work for a 71-72 MC and booster(disc/drum)? I am converting a 67 C10 to power discs in front.

Re: Proportioning Valve Question
There should be no difference in prop valves (technically called a combination valve) for manual as opposed to power brakes. The difference is in whether you have drum/drum or disc/drum. Front discs require no residual valve but need a metering valve. Rear drums require a residual valve to keep the shoes close to the drum. Using a drum/drum combination valve on a disc/drum vehicle could cause the the front discs to drag. So, yes, your prop valve should work as you have proposed.

Re: Proportioning Valve Question
Thanks mclairmo!! That is what I was thinking but I wanted some feedbasck from someone who new. I couldn't find any differences in part numbers for aftermarket prop valves so I figure as long as it was a disc/drum setup it should be ok.
