Eddie`s Truck Rollin`By
I had just walked back over to my place and knew he was rolling it up the road to listen to see if a vibration problem was solved. So I grabbed the camera from my truck:

Hey Tim. Good to see Eddie's truck again. It looks real good. Makes me want to swap a 4 speed in mine.

Re: Eddie`s Truck Rollin`By
I know what you mean.I`m excited about whenever I get mine going.I saw an M20 or 21 at Carlisle for $500 and friends said there were good deals allover the meet.
Too bad the sound wasn`t right on that video. There`s a vibration in that thing and the driveshaft is balanced,we just put a different rear in it,and it`s still vibrating. The shifter doesn`t even shake. It`s not real bad,but not right. We`re thinking tailshaft bearing now.

Re: Eddie`s Truck Rollin`By
I remember when members on this site went nuts for pictures. So much we even had a pictures forum. Now,someone shows a moving picture of a ground-up garage-built truck in motion and only three comments. Is it shyness or what?Cuz I know you all love lookin`at shortbeds. No burnouts or layin`frame, just a cool truck rollin`by for a few seconds. After the rear`s broke-in I`ll have him smoke it through the gears and get a video for ya!
C`mon, speak up and show you appreciate another member sharing a little vid (if you like it).Heck,I saw it for real.Just sharing here.

I like it Tim. I have to click on the link and it takes me to photobucket to see it. Also if it were on You Tube I couldn't see it. Not at work anyway. Maybe that is the deal with some people. I don't know.

Re: Eddie`s Truck Rollin`By
I love it and if I saw that truck go by me on the road I'd chase it down so I could see it closer and talk to the owner. Has anyone ever done that or follow someone home so you could get a closer look at their vehicle. Everyone I've ever done that too has been flattered that I took the time to see their vehicle up close.

Re: Eddie`s Truck Rollin`By
So,I can stop whining? Yeah, someone showed me back in September that my camera can do video...DUH?My laptop sound is crapola. The truck sounds great, especially being a 4spd (Saginaw). That truck was built by Eddie out of a`72 &`67 short Fleet as well as a`68 longbed that the cab and motor were from.I supplied the shortbeds. We all pitched in here and there and his old friend Mike (Rocky) painted it.Another aquaintence,Ted,did whatever body work was needed.Mark Pickett around the corner has a machine/welding/repair shop and did the 3.42 posi job combining`86 &`72 parts. We all drank beer.

Re: Eddie`s Truck Rollin`By
Great looking truck! Kinda sounds like the way mine are coming together, cept what work gets done I do with just my son or daughters. I got a line on some parts trucks the other day and really scored, the guy told me to come back anytime and just get whatever I need FREE! Being the frugal individual I am, I'm over joyed! He's got 3 or 4 parts trucks around. I gotta get back up there soon. Hopefully I'll be able to have both of mine on the road soon!

Re: Eddie`s Truck Rollin`By
We`ve looked it all over, just going down the road. Not real bad,but there. He swapped wheels with his`86,then got new tires. The d-shaft is balances and the rear is swapped. The u-joints are all new.The trans had been laying in his shop for years. Not sure if it`s out of something else he had or he never ran it.
Hey Jim,there`s some land for sale up the road. The meadow between us is in a weird situation. The ones behind me are goin`for squatters rights...that`s 20 years of use w/o anything said about it by the owner. He`s back on taxes,so if someone paid that it`s theirs.I don`t think it`s buildable, though, being low and with a creek through it.The land straight across the road is available, too. Those guys are all tight from years back.I`m new to the bunch and only because I`m a neighbor and into these trucks. They`re rodders from way back.I seem to be on my own with my truck. No one`s offered help and I`m not askin`.But,they also know I`m too broke to do much.Maybe if things got movin`it would be different. That guy Mark built my 327 and my M22/clutch is from Mike.
