Welcome. As far as opinions, mine would be to ask your grandfather what he would like. Since it sounds like you're willing to honor him, what better way than to let him make the decision. Maybe when you get pictures, get someone on the photoshop forum to show you how the different ideas would look...

those are great ideas.as far asking him.i dont think he really cares.hes an old war vet.and tells it like it is.he wants me to do what im gonna be happy with.and he wants the truck in my hands and taken care off.

hes like that old guy from grand torino,he tells it like it is.and if he doesnt like you,he tells you.

im liking the photoshop idea, how does that work?

Re: 1968 chevrolet cst long bed

Mine is white (as you can see in my avtar) 327, four speed, CST paint stripe, wood bed. It does not many other options. I bought mine from a farmer about 10 years ago. I rebuilt the 327 about two years ago. It's bored 030 over. I ran all the numbers on the truck when I rebuilt it and everything came up right for my truck.

The truck has around 50k miles on it.

It's stock right down to the smog pump.

I have no real plans for it right now. Some day it may get a new paint job when we find some extra cash hanging around.

It has some pretty minor surface rust. It also got some minor hail damage on the hood and top of the cab back in 2001. I was really bummed out.

It has all the original chrome trim. If you need any help figuring out how to set up your 68 back to stock let me know.

thats great original is great.
my truck has some visible rust, not sure how much or how bad it is under all everything.,
i have a few bad body panels, front fender has a huge dent in it.
i think somebody took an axe to the passengers side bed.

i have all the pieces except the tail gate trim and 2 more pieces.
my truck is hopefully getting new paint soon.my family owns and builds custom cars and they have shops.so once we start the body, its gonna be painted all black, all trim and everything is gonna be re chromed or left alone.
and highly considerring putting a pow mia logo on the doors
