Re: SM465 parking brake???

I've got a SM465 in my '85, it's a 2wd. The parking brakes are the rear drums.

Dunno if that helps, but at least you can cross one model/year/combination off the list.

Re: SM465 parking brake???

I wouldn't be surprised if that was an option or mod from a C50+. I will dig around hte EPC tonight if I remember, see if I can find anything.

Re: SM465 parking brake???

I saw a 72 C30 with the brake on the trans. All the ones from 73+ that I've seen don't have it.

Re: SM465 parking brake???

yeah.. i'd keep my search to big big trucks... all of the trans brakes that come though work are on the bigger diesels... though... they're later model with autos.. but still.

Re: SM465 parking brake???

Weren't those on the SM420's, I know they were on older trucks on the C50's and bigger. Ive never seen one on a SM465, I may be wrong though.
Can we see a picture of the one with the brake. Thanks

Agree. Prop mounted parking brake would be Medium Duty, P truck, etc.
