Really odd marking on bed
I found a decent used bed for my customers truck since her floor was rotted out. I noticed the front panel has a strange marking that came from the factory. I know it came from the factory because this bed is original paint everywhere. You can see in the pic that the black line that makes up the lettering(?) was painted over and has sags of paint under it.
I'm not sure what year the bed is, but it's going on a '71 and is a long bed. Just wondering if anyone has ever seen anything like this. Small talk on a Sunday evening. Last edited by NevadaDVX; 05-02-2010 at 09:04 PM. |

Re: Really odd marking on bed
looks like the super rare one-year-only "Bob-built" pickup bed
seriously though, I don't get it the runs in the paint underneath... was it scraped into wet paint or written in permanent maker?

Re: Really odd marking on bed
How interesting. I just found the exact type of marking on my bed. It was a Q but it was on the passenger side. It was like the painter marked his initial in the primer.
Where was your truck built. Mine's a Freemont truck. |

Re: Really odd marking on bed
I don't know anything about the truck it came off of. I picked it up as a bare bed. It's really wierd because the marking is raised almost like it's made of a thin wire or something similar.
