i'd check to see if you've got good clean solid grounds on the stereo

Re: Good HEI = Noisy stereo...Help !?
I think there should be a filter in the internal or external regulator on your alternator. I could be wrong.
Mine used to do the same thing. every so often it would go to popping so bad i had to turn it off. Over time I replaced alot of factory grounds, with new grounds and cleaned up the rust and road grim from the mating surfaces too. i also upgraded to a bigger internally regulated alternator. The PO had done some shoddy wiring before me. So i removed alot of splices and wiring by replacing whole sections of the chopped up wiring harnesses. I havent had the problems since. Also, if you are running an amp, make sure your speaker wires are not close to your amp power wire. i have heard that could cause speaker noise. |

Re: Good HEI = Noisy stereo...Help !?
cdowns your prob right.
Well so far it seems logical to climb under the dash...again, And check dem grounds. dznucks...I have a local supplier for alternator goodies. I could build it anyway I need. I'm thinkin good call. I'm 6'2" (in the morning) and 6'1" at nite.(gravity) So I guess I'll prymyself under the dash later in the day. LOL Unless someone can give me some "cheat" solution for my slacker mood. Workin man blues you know.

Cleaned grounds, installed noise filter, secured 8mm tylers, (away from metal)
All is well I hear. Stereo (hei caused poping) cured. Thanks
