Please help. Flowmaster 50's or long glass pacs ?

Help me answer the question. Its time for this to go on behind my Hedman headers... I want a deep growl when I tromp it but fairly sedate on the highway.

40's sound awesome outside the car but beware of interior resonance. I have them on my chevelle and it can be pretty significant at times.

I ran 40s with my 350 and it was loud, I liked it alot but I could never 'sneek' into a campground late at night
I run 50s now with my 454 and they are great too, quite-er at idle and cruzin but open up when the skinny pedel hits the floor

Re: Please help. Flowmaster 50's or long glass pacs ?

What tcb-1, Burt4x4 & Lolife99 said, Flowmaster 50's, I have been running them on my rig for the last 2 years and am really happy with them. They meet your criteria: "deep growl when I tromp it but fairly sedate on the highway" and oddly enough they sound like 40's when your rig is just idling, a great trade off to the louder 40's. Also, don't forget that the way your exhaust system is hung/mounted under you truck makes a big difference too. For instance, j-hooks versus the more rigid and louder interior noise you get from the metal bracket with the small rubber bushing. The way it is mounted will dictate how much interior drone and noise you get from the exhaust system.

Snap up some pics of the exhaust installation when completed if possible, would love to see how it turns out.
