Its a 69 Car color....Le Mans Blue....A lot Camaro's were painted that color

I know I've told you time and time again, but that's a beautiful truck and I can only hope mine turns out half as good as yours.

Thanks so much Shannon....Yours is going to turn out awesome.....Your well on your way!

In many ways I am so glad its done....but I do wish I was able to go back and do somethings different....It was a huge learning curve and I f'd up the sequence on quite a few things, which caused a lot of re-work and somethings I'm not really happy with....I did learn that sequence is very very important....

Is that bright blue repro vinyl? How well does it match the LeMans Blue? Sorry to be so nosy, Just trying to gather some info from those who have it.

So, what is the proper sequence for resto? What wa the biggest mistake?

No..it is not the stock repro brite bue vinyl interior...The brite blue was a little too brite for that color...So I first had to find a vinyl dye that was a little darker....and I found it in the Color Bond brand...68 Camaro - medium blue....I then just picked out some vinyl that matched the dye color....

As far as sequence issues....everything from installing the dash pad first before any other dash stuff....to installing the engine last, not while it is a rolling chassis....to jambing all body panels and doing final paint AFTER it is in place back on the frame and aligned...just lots of little things!

Really??? Installing it last, huh? This is about the point I'm at on my Jimmy and I thought that getting the engine/trans/transfer case in would be a big help to get it rolling around easier. Interesting. Any other tips?

Yea...If possible I would have probably installed the trans and transfer case on the chassis but did the engine itself later....Just gives you a lot more room to work on all the firewall, brakelines and engine bay stuff....It also made it a lot heavier to move around and I was really tight on space.....those cheap ass car dollies form harbor freight wouldn't move a well equiped bicycle.....

Yeah, there is a huge learning curve when rebuilding one of these trucks, especially if it's your first one. I learned that the hard way.

Like you I figured out late in the game on some things that there is a sequence to putting them back together.
