Re: 69 swb resto
The pics are from feb. I have never done any bodywork before, mainly mechanical side of things. My bodyman has let me learn some stuff. I disassembled the truck and did lots of stripping/cleaning and painting small parts

Re: 69 swb resto
Hugger CST, thanks man. I appreicate it. I read your thread before I signed up and loved it. Im sure you have heard it before, but the gas filler is an awesome idea. I wish i was still at that point and would have tried to do something similar. Your truck looks sweet

Re: 69 swb resto
Thanks guys, all the complements are appreciated.
Ctrow, its been in paint for about 4 months or so. Has moved along pretty quickly....i cant complain. As for rust it did have its fair share, kickpanels, front/rear window, driver door and on the firewall behind the passenger side hood hinge. its all been replaced and as a bonus I was able to learn a few things about rust repair and bodywork along the way. Here's some more pics of the frame after about a week of action with a wire wheel attached to a drill and scotch brite pads. Dont remember if I said it in earlier posts but i rebuild the front end and added disc brakes while it was torn apart. Also replaced the carrier bearing and serviced the tranny. |
