New to the forum & to Classic Chevy's Here's my Project
I've been searching for a project for 3 or 4 months. I've done alot of reading here on the forum, Lots of great information. Thanks for looking
I picked up a 1969 GMC 910 LWB pickup on Thrusday night. I've been looking for a short box model for some time but have been unable to find one at the right price. So I'll be converting this truck to a short box, with the help of the info found here!! It's got a 250 straight six w/ 3 on the tree. From what I'm told by the previous owner it hasn't been run in at least 5 years maybe 10. Now for the plans: Phase One -Convert to Short box -Repair floor and rockers -Lower it 5" Front and 7" rear -I've got a line on a ZZ4 350 complete with efi. or an LS-2 but it is just a long block so it will need alot of parts and pieces. Phase 2 -Convert to 4 wheel discs. -Lay the frame on the ground with Air suspension -update front suspension to with drop cross member and rack n pinion steering. -20x8.5 wheels (Boyd Timeless 2's are the goal currently) Phase 3 -Complete the body work and paint -Complete new interior Getting ready to remove the Cab from the frame. The start of shortening the frame This is the goal for the look of phase 1 & 2 |
