vintage air evaporator kit and laid out trucks
Ok so i read some place if you have a factory AC truck and you want to get rid of the box off the firewall when laying out your truck you can use the vintage air evaporator kit not the full kit.. i just want to make sure this is true and i dont need anything crazy. background on the truck factory AC truck i am putting in a 5.7 vortec motor out of 96-99 silverado's which has the compressor on it.
thanks guys! |

Re: vintage air evaporator kit and laid out trucks
The Vintage Air kit moves everything behind the dash, so it shaves the firewall. They are upgrading their kit as we speak, so I would guess it should be market ready in a few months. I think it will be worth the wait.

I would get the kit and maybe ask if you can get it without the compressor. The kit comes with alot of special parts to run and control that unit. I realy like the look of a clean firewall here are some pics of my Vintage Air unit.

I don't see why you couldn't make it work even with one of their universal kits.

Re: vintage air evaporator kit and laid out trucks
You could, but the sure fit kits will have a dedicated OEM styled control panel, and teh unti is completely controlled by it's own ECU. It is really cool.
