I'm doing an engine swap on my 66 C10. It has a 6 in line and I'm replacing it with a 2004 4.8 Vortec, does any one knows what radiator can I use and where can I get it. I'm looking for an economical radiator.

Don't know how to define economical, but I put a new 3-row Modine in my 64 C10 a few years ago. The Modine for 64-66 V8 trucks is still available, and it fits real nice. You need new lower mounts from LMC or someone like that, and you need an upper mount from a 64-66 V8 truck from a swapmeet or whatever. Think I paid $240 or so for the new Modine and $25 or less for all the brackets.

thanks for your help, 240 or lower is fine, I look on summit and they some that cost 500 or more, that's expensive.

Shoot, summit has some that are a package with rad, elec fans, shroud, wiring and they are $1100.00.

I bought a $500+ Be Cool radiator from Summit about 10 years ago. It was amazing, when the 160 degree thermostat opened, the temp would drop to 155. You could watch it cycle on the gauge, cooling was fantastic.

Unfortunately, it also leaked from day one. Since the truck was my daily driver I took it to a local radiator guy for a quick fix, and he said it looked like a piece of junk and didn’t want to be responsible for working on it. I sent it back for warranty repair and had him recore my 58 Impala radiator to get me back on the road, and it’s been working fine ever since. Once the Be Cool came back repaired I never had confidence to go through the effort to put it back in. Spending a ton of money won’t necessarily provide a superior result.

I bought the Modine from a local radiator shop, Marietta Radiator here in Georgia. The V8 radiator is wider than the I-6 radiator, so it does not slide down between the frame rails. It sits on top of the frame rails, and therefore sits higher, which is why you need the V8 upper bracket.
