a/c clutch not engaging HELP in AZ

ok so i live in az its hot my a/c components are newer and switched to 134 already my a/c did work about a month ago when i tryed it and we just got into the 100s this week and i turned it on the clutch was sticking and finally just stuck all together and when i would turn it on it would just sqeal and start burning up my belt from not moving so i turned it off quickly it only ran about 30 seconds stuck and i turned it back off

i replaced the clutch i did notice on the old one the electrical connections were all corroded and broken off the back so im guessing that might of been why it went out but it was engaging prior to changing it out so i have the new clutch on but its not engaging when i turn it on ive tested the power at the clutch and its getting 12v at the connector when ac is on but not engaging the only thing i noticed different is the gap between the pulley and the outer portion that is supposed to spring together its about double the gap as the original

when i was looking for a clutch puller and installer i couldnt find one for some reason that would fit my threads so i had to do with out it was a ***** i work at an autozone so i tryed really hard to find one tested a few we had and non were the correct thread by the way the compressor is a ready aire not sure the model but i can find out if needed

77 chevy c10 350/350turbo motors newer crate

Re: a/c clutch not engaging HELP in AZ

If you turn it on and the belt burns up, that tells me the compressor is frozen. Did I understand what you said correctly? It was kind of hard to follow.
