manual to hydraulic clutch
has anyone ever done this?
i'm looking at a 69 250 six and 3-speed manual. i thought about putting in an auto trans or switching to a hydraulic clutch to make it easier to push for daily driving. i also have a complete WC T5 from an 88 trans am but i think the shifter is too far back for a truck. can i use the clutch slave and master cylinder from the TA on the truck? |

Re: manual to hydraulic clutch
You are right about the F-body T-5 shifter being too far back for these trucks. The usual fix is to replace the tail housing and shifter with S-10 parts, or else run buckets.
There are a bunch of hydraulic clutch conversion threads on this board, and I haven't seen any yet that used the F-body MC. That doesn't mean it wouldn't work of course. Are you the adventurous type? Ray Last edited by raycow; 06-14-2010 at 03:08 PM. |

Re: manual to hydraulic clutch
I used the t5,belhousing and slave from a 84 camaro , the master has two many angles for a truck firewall. An aftermarket 3/4 master from wilwood, a braided line , and adapter to the slave was all very simple to rig. Hope this helps - Bob
