bouncing truck

why does my truck bounce so much? i have two 07 gmc trucks and they are so bouncy and jumpy. they handle like crap and when i hit bumps in the road it seems like the tires hop off of the ground. i put 22"rims and that helped a lil bit, lowered the back 2" and that did nothing to. I have a 98 chevy truck and that thing is glued to the ground! it takes corners going 45 with no tire screech and rides like a champ! I just dont get it.

Re: bouncing truck

Have you modified the suspension at all? Different shocks? Sprnigs?
What size tires do you have? Tire sidewall does a lot to cushion a ride. With a small sidewall you will feel more from the road.

Re: bouncing truck

no mods to the front suspension, 2 inch lowered in the back with shackle, 305/40-22 and i have a totaly stock truck as well with the steel rims. the truck with the rims and tires rides a little better than the fully stock truck

Have you checked tire pressure? Factory shocks are junk. Look into some Bilstein shocks for both your trucks.

I agree with 71swb4x4 big rims & lower profile tires will have a worse ride than a stock set-up.

Re: bouncing truck

2wd? 1/2 ton? 3/4 ton? I gotta agree, change the shocks for a better ride. I switched my 3/4 ton to KYB and Its a noticable difference, especially when not towing
