my 67 c10 first build
Well im gonna start my build thread. My senior year I bought my 67 c10 from
Mineral wells, Texas. The PO said it would start and drive, but I decided not to take a chance of a break down on the way down to Pasadena and had it shipped. Once the truck arrived it had a hard time to stay running, it wouldn’t go ten feet w/o dying. Three days later all of the old fuel was out of the carb and it ran fine. It’s been nearly two years and im finally starting to get to work on it due to problems on my daily (cracked block). Plans so far are to get the correct fenders and an undamaged core support, fix rust (cab corner, rocker), fix separation an foot wells, rebuild leaking th350 transmission and engine. The 350 v8 will be gone through and might get new aluminum heads from procomp and a cam up-grade and a new park brake system. Other than that im just getting started with the project and don’t want to blow it apart just yet. If any body has advice its greatly appreciated. Eric |

Re: my 67 c10 first build
the po did put fenders but there 69 fenders and i think its a 69 front clip minus the hood that they used to repair damage from a wreck. and for progress i have removed the clip, engine, transmission and
removed the carpet. found some seats from a 2004 grand am that i plan to use but they need to be covered |

Re: my 67 c10 first build
Well the fenders hood and grill didn't really look right on there and the core support was damaged. Others than that not much progress since last post but I got the heads in and they were wrong and i sent them back to get the right ones. So the correct heads should be on the way procomp aluminum heads. I plan on getting the engine reconditioned and put in a mild cam soon

Re: my 67 c10 first build
well the motor is built minus balancer pully and oil pan and now im gonna be moving on to the frame and suspension. has anyone boxed in their frame for more rigidity or do these frames even need to be fully boxed? i had thought about doing this but wanted to get an opinion.

Re: my 67 c10 first build
Well guys, I know it's been a long time since this has been updated but the project is starting to pick up slowly, so here's some pictures. What we did is of course pulled the frame out.
Just some pictures of how everything is looking right now. Here's the correct transmission support that's supposed to be with the truck, PO ghetto rigged one up. The one the PO made Here's the comparison between the supposed to be tranny mount, and the PO ghetto rigged transmission support. Does anyone know what these numbers are? The truck when it was originally built was made with a I-6 I'm guess it was a 250cid? But here's the take the I-6 mounts being removed. Here's the correct engine mounting hardware for the sbc It seems as if I didn't take any pictures of it, but we also wire wheeled some of the engine mount hardware, and we also wire wheeled on the frame where the engine mount bracket goes. Right now he's wanting to get the frame ready for sanding blasting, so that it can start being built back up again.

Re: my 67 c10 first build
Those numbers on the frame are a serial number and a build date. Looks like this '67 was built and assembled August 25, 1990
Those numbers might make reference to your VIN. I know they do on my frame. If they aren't your VIN, then I stand by my first suggestion!

Re: my 67 c10 first build
Making progress is always good whether it's slow or fast.
As for that front clip, the hood, grille, and driver side fender are 67-68 parts. The passenger fender is 69-72. |

Re: my 67 c10 first build
so long time with no update.i have realized that i probably will not be able to see this truck to its finish as i don't have the time or money. I'm looking for suggestions on what to do with it. it is stripped down just about as much as it can be frame off. my dad would like it gone. should i part it out it has a bonded title. my other option is to scrap it but i feel it would be a shame to do that. any thoughts?
