blazer axles on my truck??

hey guys so i really want to switch my 71 c10 to 4x4 so i have been looking at axles so i found a set of 1988 k5 axles for 75 bucks that are in great condition but i just want to know if i could put those on my truck and put new leafs on it and make my truck a 1/2 ton again. thanks for the help in advance!

You'll need a lot more than the axles and springs - like the spring hangers, steering box, linkage, and a bunch of small parts I have probably forgotten. About the only practical way to do a 2 to 4 conversion is to find a complete donor rolling chassis so you can get all the parts off of it. Otherwise you will just nickel and dime yourself to death.

Ray is right. When I converted by 59 I used 74 running gear, 62 sb engine. I spent a lot of time running down the small stuff including brake parts, steering parts, etc. This time around i bought a complete 74 4wd for the engines, trans, transfer, steering, master cylinder and a bunch of misc stuff I missed the first time. around here the bodies are usually rusted out so bad you can get the complete truck for the cost of the running gear.
