Bi-amping a component set

My new kicker components is rated 100rms/200max. In the booklet that came with them kicker says the crossover is bi-ampable so the component set takes 4 channels. The only thing I don't see is if its still 100rms to each channel or does the set take 100 so its 50 per speaker?

I would just shoot kicker an email so you can get the specifics. To be on the safe side you can just run 100 rms to each. It's always better to have more power then less. When you turn an amp on it doesn't just go boom 100 watts. Personally I go 1.5-2 times the rms requirements so the amps never have to work hard and last much much longer. Plus if you do crank them up a bit you don't risk distortion and blowing a speaker due to lack of power. I cases when I do boats for people, that want to be the loudest guy on the water, I'll go 3 times and turn down the amp a bit. That has more to do with the fact they run them as loud as they can for 5 hours while its 120 outside and the amp is mounted in a location where there normally isn't any air flow. My point is more power within reason will never hurt.

Thanks for the advice. Im the same way with amps. Kicker said its 100 to each speaker so I am putting a 650.4 in [120x4]. Should sound great.

Make sure your gains are cranked down to a minimum before you do too much. I'm not too worried, but I could just see the "I just smoked my new Kickers" thread in my head...

lol. Im having a shop install everything as wiring is not my thing and Im having the rear plates [35rms infinitys] run off the deck instead of an amp now. Im going to tell them to tune the amp to put out 100w at 75% deck volume.

Well if you feel like giving it a shot I can walk you through. It's not that hard at all. I know it can sound harder then it is.
