Power Steering Pulley
I am contemplating going from manual to power steering on my 69 chev. I have a double groove v-belt pully on the crank and waterpump. The alternator/water pump is using the outside groove as seen here:
![]() My question is, does the power steering pump use the inside groove of the crank pulley or does it need a triple crank pulley and therefore I am screwed and have to buy a new one?

Re: Power Steering Pulley
but will it line up with inside groove that I have open? Just the standard Saginaw keyway pump depth? I have no reference to look at or document since my truck is manual - that's my big issue. Thanks!

Re: Power Steering Pulley
the inside of the pully is 4 3/4" from the face of where the freeze plug goes in
hope that helps

Re: Power Steering Pulley
The PS pump pulleys vary. On my 350 with AC, it's supposed to be on the outer groove of of my 3 groove crank pulley. I put an aftermarket pulley on and it lined up with the middle groove where my AC belt is supposed to go. Still have to find a pulley that works. I would get a PS pump, bracket and pulley and mount it to see where you end up.
